Pediatric CranioSacral Therapy
As an advanced practitioner of CranioSacral Therapy with pediatric training, I’ve been blessed with an adorable deluge of little ones, some of them as young as 2 weeks old! What a joy to help a brand new human get a healthy start on life!

Where are all these babies coming from? Well, I started considering pediatrics after many of my clients and colleagues requested this service for their own little ones. And then, women with high-risk pregnancies started to come for treatment, and wanted to plan in advance for the needs of their babies. I’d resisted for years because I’m not a mom myself. I didn’t feel qualified, but people who knew that about me just kept on asking, so…here we are! Much to my delight, I felt right at home in the CranioSacral Therapy for Pediatrics class, especially when the highly skilled instructor told us that she herself isn’t a mom. In that class, we learned important information about the developing brain and skull of a baby, which necessitates very specific modifications of the CranioSacral therapy techniques used on older children and adults. In addition to the class prerequisite of being advanced CranioSacral Therapy practitioners, we also received hands-on, supervised, clinical experience treating babies and small children, while also treating and supporting the needs of their parents and siblings….at the same time. Delightful chaos to say the least, and amazing practice for the realities of life in my treatment room.
I'm in LOVE with my tiniest clients!

How might your baby or child benefit from CranioSacral Therapy? Some of the most common reasons for treatment are:
-
Tongue tie - Pre and post operative, as well as support when the decision is made to avoid frenectomy
-
Feeding issues
-
Torticollis
-
Birth trauma
-
Failure to thrive
-
Headaches
-
Reflux
-
Anxiety
-
Cranial bone override
-
Autism
-
Sensory and reflex issues

How is treatment done? Gently, fully clothed, and with lots of play and fun, either on...and sometimes under :)... the massage table or on the floor. I meet your child exactly where he or she is in the moment, and through gentle touch (with feeding/cuddling with parent breaks as needed), we release restrictions in the body, with the goal of enhancing your child's innate ability to self-heal.
Out of the mouth of babes...

Upon experiencing CranioSacral Therapy for the first time, one young client described the sensation as "a soft ocean".
Another said after several sessions, "My head feels like a dark cave filled with rocks. Every time I visit Susan, she removes one of the rocks".
Yup, I love my job!
