SomatoEmotional Release

Your body remembers every experience it has ever had...good and not so good...physical or emotional. When you're injured or traumatized, your body instinctively "walls off" the site of the injury.  That's great if you have a cut and your body instinctively causes your blood to congeal and form a scab.  But it might not be so great if your body has "walled off" a muscle, nerve, or organ, ultimately causing you pain, either physical or emotional.

SomatoEmotional Release involves gentle holding and/or moving of various body parts to support your body's innate ability to self-regulate and heal.  Given support and compassion in a totally safe space, your body can release long-held patterns of pain.  Tears, laughter, personal insights and "aha" moments often follow.  Therapists trained in SomatoEmotional Release are highly skilled at facilitating this process with an unwavering commitment to supporting you with dignity and respect.

Your body will only release emotions or pains that it is ready to release.  The therapist is only the facilitator, so you will never be pressed to explore or revisit sensations that are too disturbing.

SomatoEmotional Release is not counseling.  Rather, therapists trained in SomatoEmotional release will often partner with mental health professionals as part of your wellness team.  Combining CranioSacral Therapy/SomatoEmotional Release and professional counseling can produce profound healing and personal growth.

I sincerely hope that you'll give yourself permission to release those long-held pains, and include me as a member of your wellness team.

Thank you,
